"But here I am, making friends and staying active. The convenience of playing indoors, away from the heat and rain, is just fantastic."

Mariana Zobel de Ayala, Ayala Land’s group head for leasing and hospitality, emphasized the transformation of Ayala Malls at the launch of its Picklemall initiative in October 2023. “Ayala Malls is no longer just about shopping—it's now a hub for promoting an active and healthier lifestyle,” she said.

Steven Tan, president of SM Megamalls, shared that the decision to add pickleball courts was driven by feedback from local communities.
“We found out from our shoppers and partners that there’s a growing pickleball community in need of a dedicated space. In response, we’ve collaborated with pickleball groups and organizations to not only offer courts but also ensure convenience with features like parking, dining options, shopping, and a focus on safety,” Tan explained.
