Vietnamese-American pickleball sensation Quang Duong has revealed his highly anticipated 2025 tour schedule, with a strong focus on Vietnam and other key destinations in Asia. At just 18 years old, Duong has already established himself as a formidable force in professional pickleball, currently ranked sixth in the world according to the PPA Tour rankings. As he eyes his first professional title, this upcoming tour presents an exciting opportunity for him to promote the sport, connect with fans, and refine his skills during the off-season.
An Ambitious Tour Across Asia
Quang Duong shared details of his planned journey on his personal page, which spans multiple Asian nations. The tour, scheduled from April 8 to April 22, will take him to Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand before he returns to his roots in Vietnam. The primary focus of the trip will be to participate in exhibitions, promotional events, and intensive training sessions in preparation for the 2025 Major League Pickleball (MLP) season.
"Before the 2025 MLP season starts, my dad told me to plan a trip to Asia to promote and practice pickleball. We will be visiting several destinations, including Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and of course, Vietnam," Duong stated.
Highlighting Pickleball’s Growth in Vietnam
Duong’s visit to Vietnam will be extensive, covering key cities known for their growing pickleball communities. His stops will include Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Bac Ninh, and Hanoi. From there, he will head south to Da Nang and Quang Ngai before concluding his journey in Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam has seen a rising interest in pickleball, with more players, clubs, and tournaments emerging across the country. Duong’s presence will further fuel enthusiasm for the sport, inspiring both seasoned players and newcomers alike. His visit is expected to bring much-needed exposure to pickleball in Vietnam, demonstrating the sport’s potential to thrive at a professional level.
Chasing His First Professional Title
Despite being one of the youngest top-ranked pickleball players, Quang Duong is still searching for his first major title. He came tantalizingly close at the 2025 PPA Australian Open but narrowly missed out on a spot in the final after a dramatic, deciding-point loss.
Recently, at the Tucson Open World Pickleball Championship, Duong competed in three events—men’s singles, men’s doubles, and mixed singles. While he made it to the quarterfinals in men’s singles, he was ultimately stopped by Hunter Johnson, who went on to claim the title. In doubles and mixed singles, he faced tough competition and was unable to advance to the medal rounds.
Despite these setbacks, Duong remains a strong contender for upcoming tournaments. With his dedication and skill, it’s only a matter of time before he secures his first professional championship.
