In a move that’s sending ripples through the international pickleball community, 19-year-old sensation Quang Duong, currently ranked No. 7 in men’s singles on the PPA Tour, has officially joined forces with Vietnamese paddle brand Sypik. The announcement marks a powerful turning point not just for Duong’s career, but for the rise of Vietnam in the global pickleball arena.
The young Vietnamese-American athlete bid farewell to Selkirk, his paddle sponsor of two years, with a heartfelt message.
“Thank you Selkirk for the support last 2 years. I was able to bring Selkirk around the world,” Duong shared on Instagram. “From USA to Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Ha Long Bay, Mumbai and many other Asian countries. Let #pickleball continue to grow global. Thank you.”
Just one day later, Sypik confirmed the signing with a celebratory announcement, describing the partnership as:
“A historic handshake between a world-class Vietnamese athlete and a rising Vietnamese paddle brand shaking the global stage… Reaching international level, bringing Vietnamese aspirations to the world!”

A New Era for Pickleball in Vietnam
Duong’s partnership with Sypik isn’t just a brand switch—it’s a cultural moment. The collaboration symbolizes Vietnamese excellence stepping confidently onto the world stage, and it represents a new chapter in Asia’s pickleball narrative. For a Vietnamese player of Duong’s caliber to align with a domestic brand speaks volumes about the growth of the sport in the region.
This homegrown synergy embodies national pride. It’s a bold statement that Vietnam isn’t just participating in the pickleball boom—it’s leading it.

Paddle Switch Season: A Global Shakeup
Duong's signing is part of a broader trend of player-brand movement across the pro circuit this week. Fellow elite players are also making waves with paddle changes:
Tina Pisnik left ProXR to join Warping Point, with the brand noting,
“With her elite experience and passion for the game, Tina joins us as we take Warping Point to next dimension.”
Dylan Frazier, another top-tier talent, departed from Selkirk and linked up with Volair. His new sponsor revealed that he’ll play a hands-on role in product development:
“One of the top players in the world is joining forces with us—not just to play, but to help build… We’re beyond hyped to have him in the lab and on the court with us.”
Eyes on the Future
For Quang Duong and Sypik, the road ahead is filled with promise. As the PPA season heats up and the global spotlight on pickleball intensifies, this dynamic duo is poised to make waves—and not just in Vietnam.
This moment proves that pickleball’s heartbeat is truly global. It’s growing in skill, in style, and in spirit—and now, it has a powerful new story to tell from Southeast Asia.
