Pickleball history was made in Gujarat as Vadodara played host to the LGT Wealth India Gujarat Masters 2025, the largest state-level pickleball tournament ever held in the region. From March 21 to 23, the city buzzed with energy as over 250 players battled it out across 29 fiercely contested categories, marking a major milestone in India’s pickleball journey.
With a prize pool exceeding ₹5 lakh, the event delivered not just thrilling matches, but a strong message: Gujarat is fast becoming a powerhouse in India’s growing pickleball movement.
A Landmark Moment for Indian Pickleball
Organized by the Pickleball Association of Gujarat (PAG) under the aegis of the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA), the tournament drew record-breaking participation and community engagement. The event spotlighted Gujarat’s commitment to building a high-impact, inclusive sporting ecosystem.
Saurabh Trivedi, President of PAG, described the event as a watershed moment for the sport:
“The Gujarat Masters is a game-changer for pickleball in India. With record-breaking participation, it’s not just Gujarat’s biggest pickleball tournament—it’s a statement of the sport’s growing momentum. Star Power and Strategic Vision
Behind the tournament’s success is a powerhouse team of former athletes and sports leaders, including Ronak Mehta, Rahul Vora, Shaleen Bhatt, and cricketer Mrugesh Kothari. Their experience and leadership have played a pivotal role in transforming PAG into one of the most proactive pickleball associations in India.
Their collective efforts have not only raised the profile of the sport across Gujarat but have also helped create a pathway for young athletes to shine.
Building the Future of Pickleball
In tandem with the tournament, PAG also spotlighted its Player Sponsorship Program, which supports up-and-coming athletes through financial aid and professional training. The initiative is already helping players turn passion into performance.
Looking ahead, PAG Labs—a high-performance training and mentorship program—has been announced as the next major step in player development. Spearheaded by internationally acclaimed coach Radhika Trivedi and AIPA Head Coach Bhupendra ji, the program is expected to elevate Indian pickleball to new heights.
