Pickleball is making waves across Asia, and nowhere is that more evident than in China, where The Dink Minor League Pickleball (MiLP) has burst onto the scene with incredible success! This groundbreaking expansion marks a pivotal moment in the country’s pickleball journey, introducing a fresh, skill-based competition format that is already energizing communities across the nation.
A Game-Changer for Chinese Pickleball
Before MiLP’s arrival, Chinese pickleball tournaments were primarily organized by age groups rather than skill levels. But with the introduction of the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) system, the game is evolving in an exciting new direction. Players can now compete in categories that reflect their abilities, ensuring a more balanced, competitive, and engaging playing field.
The force behind this initiative? Full Send Pickleball (孚信匹克球) & Track Ops Media, in collaboration with DUPR and The Dink. This powerhouse team is committed to growing the sport in China and giving players unprecedented access to professional-style competition.

A Star-Studded Launch in Zhuhai
October 2024 saw the thrilling launch of The Dink MiLP in Zhuhai, featuring a press conference and a high-energy exhibition match. The event was nothing short of spectacular, with seven-time Canadian pickleball champion Ernesto Fajardo joining Director of the People’s Livelihood Affairs Bureau Hengqin-Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, Mr. Yujie Huang, to showcase the fast-paced, strategic team-play format of Major League Pickleball (MLP).
This format, still relatively new to Chinese audiences, captivated players and fans alike, setting the stage for a dynamic and competitive future.
Rapid Growth and Nationwide Engagement
Despite launching with just two months left in the 2024 season, MiLP China wasted no time making an impact. Thanks to Full Send Pickleball’s extensive network of club and regional directors, over 30 events were held across major cities such as Tianjin, Shenzhen, Hengqin, Chongqing, Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu.
These high-energy events culminated in an electrifying championship tournament held on December 28-29 in Chongqing at the renowned Simple Touch pickleball facility.

Tech-Driven Accessibility: The DUPR Mini-Program Revolution
One of the most exciting aspects of MiLP China’s success has been its seamless integration of technology. Full Send founder Yuki Chen spearheaded the creation of a WeChat Mini-Program called “DUPR赛事” (“DUPR Events”), making it easier than ever for players to participate in tournaments.
With just three taps and a short form, players can register for events, automatically create a DUPR account, track their team and individual stats, and view rankings—all in a user-friendly interface designed specifically for the Chinese pickleball community.
This innovation has driven a significant rise in DUPR user registrations in China, proving that accessibility and engagement go hand in hand when growing a sport.
What’s Next? A Bright Future for MiLP China in 2025
Looking ahead, MiLP China is set for an even bigger year in 2025. Over 300 MiLP events are planned across 15 cities, ensuring that more players than ever will experience the excitement of competitive pickleball.
The big question remains: Will we see a Chinese MiLP team competing in this year’s National Championships? With the momentum building at an incredible pace, all signs point to yes!
Stay tuned—the rise of Chinese pickleball is just getting started!
