Pickleball is officially making waves in Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh City’s University of Education Practice High School is at the forefront of the movement. With the grand opening of its brand-new M Sports Court, the school is giving students and teachers a world-class space to play, learn, and fall in love with the fastest-growing sport on the planet.
A Next-Level Court for a Next-Level Sport
Designed to meet international standards recognized by global sports federations, the M Sports Court is built for excellence. With its smooth surface, lasting durability, and top-tier traction, it’s the kind of facility that transforms everyday physical education into something extraordinary.
While the court is equipped to host a range of sports—from basketball to badminton and futsal—it’s pickleball that’s stealing the show. As the first official sport introduced on the new court, pickleball is setting the tone for a fresh, energetic chapter of school athletics.
Students Can’t Wait to Play
The excitement on campus is undeniable. For many students, pickleball isn’t just a new activity—it’s a whole new passion.
“Most of my classmates are excited! Many of us have already tried pickleball, so now that the school is offering lessons, we can’t wait to sign up,” shared Bao Tran, a student eager to hit the court.
By adding pickleball to the physical education program, the school is giving students the chance to experience a sport that combines the best of tennis, badminton, and table tennis—all in a fast-paced, easy-to-learn format that's perfect for players of any level.
Leading the Way for Pickleball in Schools
For Principal Nguyen Thi Tu, bringing pickleball to campus is about more than just offering a new sport—it’s about creating opportunities.
“Pickleball is taking the world by storm, and our students should have the chance to learn and play right here at school. We hope both students and teachers will make the most of this facility for training and development,” Tu shared.
And it’s clear that other schools in Ho Chi Minh City are thinking the same way. Across the city, campuses like Mac Dinh Chi High School, Hung Vuong High School, and the High School for Gifted Students under Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City have introduced pickleball courts of their own, fueling a growing network of young players discovering the joy of the game.
More Than a Sport—It’s Community
The M Sports Court recently hosted its first major event, welcoming teachers and staff from 11 high schools across the city for a friendly competition packed with pickleball, badminton, sack races, and group jump rope.
The verdict? Pure joy. Participants praised the facility and voiced their hope that more schools will follow suit, making pickleball a staple of school life and ensuring that both students and staff have fun, active ways to stay connected and healthy.
The Future of Pickleball Is Bright in Vietnam
With schools across Ho Chi Minh City stepping up to support pickleball, a new era of school sports is unfolding—one that’s social, inclusive, and seriously fun.
Whether you’re just picking up a paddle or already perfecting your third-shot drop, there’s never been a better time to be part of the pickleball community taking root in Vietnam. And with trailblazing schools like University of Education Practice High School leading the way, the future looks incredibly bright.
